Quietfire Cards

These cards are also going into the 120 card order, but since they are made almost exclusively with Quietfire and SU, I decided to give them their own post. The blue marble paper is from WalMart (as is the yellow marble paper). This flower paper was from Michaels in a big paper pack… I loved the color scheme (as it’s close to Affectionately Yours from SU),  but I got more paper for a bit less money :). The butterflies are die cut from Recollections Shimmer White cardstock/paper, and are from SU.  The Celebrate and Thinking of You are from Quietfire Designs.. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Suzanne’s calligraphy… always have since I discovered her for myself 🙂  I did One Sheet Wonders again, and I got 14 cards from each sheet of paper. I did use a HA flourish stamp on some of the blue marble paper cards, just to add a bit of interest.

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Newton’s Nook Inky Paws Challenge

This photo is for me to put up for the Newton’s Nook Inky Paws challenge #28.  I have been battling depression, but had an order for some mini valentine’s for kids. I used the Newton’s Nook Wild About Zoo stamp set, some black ink, and pencil crayons/Copics to colour the critters.. and of course, for the kids HAD to add glitter 😀2016.01.31 NEWTON'S NOOK MINI VALENTINE'S

And here’s a photo of the whole mess together.  I made about 70 of them, using multiple stamps from CraftSmart, Hero Arts, Lawn Fawn, SU, Simon Says Stamp, Inkadinkado and Newton’s Nook. 🙂 Adding glitter where I could.

Thanks for looking 🙂 I have been doing some creating, I’m just lousy at photographing all my work.

CASEing Kathy R (The Daily Marker)

2014.01.15 HUGS CARD 04 2014.01.15 HUGS CARD 03 2014.01.15 HUGS CARD 02 2014.01.15 HUGS CARD 01I  was TOTALLY inspired by Kathy R with her blog post HERE:  I just just received the Simon Says Stamp exclusive die HUGS from an order, and when I saw what Kathy did with it, I had to CASE it.  The above 4 photos are my CASEing of the original card.  CASE, is Copy and Share Everything, BUT, IMO you MUST give credit to the original designer.. not everyone does that sadly.

My take on these cards was, instead of making my own patterned paper to die cut from, use patterned paper cut to card front size.  I also added some stamping to all the cards.  The top and bottom photos have stamps from Hero Arts on them, and the cards second from the top have a Simon Says Stamp exclusive stamp (Chevron heart), a Neat and Tangled stamp (Love You), and a Tim Holtz stamp (3 hearts together).  I did end up adding sentiments to the cards in the third photo.. I added “I love you” and “You are Awesome” from Neat and Tangled.

Thanks for looking 🙂

A HUGE Get Well Card

2013.11.00 GET WELL CARD FOR ELAINE PI had been asked by a friend to make a BIG card for the head of the local Wellness, Health and Youth group, who was going in for surgery.  I was on a huge time crunch, and had no clue what to make.  Flipping through some new patterned paper, I saw the snowflakes with the feather on it, and the card was born.  I cut the 12 x 12 Recollections paper to 8 x 10.5 inches in size, and rounded the corners.  Taking 3 sheets of 8.5 x 11 inch cardstock, I made an 8.5 x 11 inch card.  I simply cut one of the pieces of cardstock down the middle lengthwise (4.25 inches) then scored in the middle of that (2 and 1/8 inch). I used Sookwang tape to adhere the middle of the card to the front and back of the card.  I then rounded all the corners of the card, and used some red gelato to add a bit more red to the card (which had red in the background of the card, you can’t see it in the photo).  I then die cut some My Favorite Things snowflakes, and added some to the card.  I printed the sentiment on white cardstock from my computer, rounded the corners, and edged it in red as well.

I hope Mrs P recovers from her surgery quickly 🙂

Sorry for being Absent….

Just a note to let everyone know, I am alive, and on the mend.  I have been struggling with Seasonal Affective Disorder for years, this fall has been worse  for me than others.  Also, I had been suffering from vertigo for a while, I think I am healed of that, thanks to some “it makes your head spin” exercises.  I  had been doing a lot of creating for a children’s craft fair, and frankly, between all three, just burnt myself to exhaustion.

I DO have  some creations to share with you, however.  I hope you enjoy them.2013.11.20 ALTERED FRAMES AND BOXES 0082013.11.20 ALTERED FRAMES AND BOXES 009 2013.11.20 ALTERED FRAMES AND BOXES 012 2013.11.20 ALTERED FRAMES AND BOXES 014 2013.11.20 ALTERED FRAMES AND BOXES 015 These are a few of the photo frames that I altered for the kids craft fair this year.
