A Rose for Edith
My friend Edith was having a milestone birthday this year, and knowing how much she LOVES roses, I HAD to make her a rose birthday card. I started with a square of patterned paper, and stamped the Rose Cluster from Stampendous on it in Archival Jet Black Ink. Using Distress Inks on a block, I water coloured the rose in Worn Lipstick, the side flowers in Broken China, and the leaves in Bundled Sage. I distressed the edges with a Tim Holtz Distress Tool, then inked the edges in Worn Lipstick. I used a Stampin Up paper piercing set, and poked holes all around the edge of the patterned paper, then threaded silver thread through it. I layered the rose onto pale pink cardstock, and added a piece of lace to the left hand side. I layered the pink panel onto a 5.5 inch square card base of Baja Breeze cardstock. To finish the card off, I added some paper roses to one corner (got them at a dollar store) and added three butterflies from K&Company to the card. I added a button centre to two of the butterflies.
Edith, I hope you had a fabulous birthday!
