Wedding Card

This is a card order that I did for a friend. She had requested that I use the couple’s wedding colours (grey and a peachy/coral colour). The card is 5×7 inches, folding from the top. I started with some textured shiny silver cardstock (12×12 inches). I cut two pieces of 5×7 inches from it. I then took a 5×5 square of white cardstock, scored it down the centre, and used Scor-It tape to adhere both sides of the fold to the silver cardstock pieces. I went to work on the card front. I die cut the three medium pieces from the Spellbinders Label 8 die set in a white shimmer cardstock. I found some American Crafts coral cardstock, and die cut some flowers from the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die (I cut some in the white shimmer as well). I also die cut 3 sets of alphabets from the Hero Arts Alpha die set (the name is eluding me at the moment). Then it was time for assembly. Starting at the top, I adhered the top piece of the “cake” to the silver card base, then the middle piece, then the bottom piece. I glued the letters of the couple’s names on the bottom piece, starting with the middle letter in the middle, then working out to the sides. I also set it so the shortest name was on top for balance. I finished off the card by adhering some of the die cut flowers to the “cake” some flat to the card, some on foam tape, and I added a small piece of sheer ribbon for elegance. I simply folded the ribbon over itself on an angle, used a glue dot to hold the ribbon from moving, and tucked the ribbon under a flower with a bit of glue. (I couldn’t resist putting pearls in the centre of some of the flowers)

Thanks for looking 🙂
