Black, white and a Touch of Colour
This card is for a challenge on CST (Canadian Stampers Talk). The challenge this week was to use black and white, with a touch of colour. I started with a textured black card base, cut, scored and folded to a standard card size. On watercolour paper, I stamped the image (Hero Arts) with Frost White ink, then used white EP and heat set. Because of the black and white main colour combo, I used Jennifer McGuire’s technique from Summer Card Camp with Fired Brick and Black Soot Distress Inks. I edged a slightly larger white square with Fired Brick Distress ink, and layered the inked image on to the white square. I ran two strips of sheer black ribbon down the middle of the card, and foam mounted the white square on the top half of the card, over the ribbon. I used a Fiskars oval punch to punch out some white cardstock, then stamped the sentiment in Satin Red Versafine. I edges the oval with a red Sharpie. I adhered the oval to the card, and finished the card with 5 white pearls down the middle of the ribbon.
