Quietfire Cards

These cards are also going into the 120 card order, but since they are made almost exclusively with Quietfire and SU, I decided to give them their own post. The blue marble paper is from WalMart (as is the yellow marble paper). This flower paper was from Michaels in a big paper pack… I loved the color scheme (as it’s close to Affectionately Yours from SU),  but I got more paper for a bit less money :). The butterflies are die cut from Recollections Shimmer White cardstock/paper, and are from SU.  The Celebrate and Thinking of You are from Quietfire Designs.. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Suzanne’s calligraphy… always have since I discovered her for myself 🙂  I did One Sheet Wonders again, and I got 14 cards from each sheet of paper. I did use a HA flourish stamp on some of the blue marble paper cards, just to add a bit of interest.

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Big Card Order

OK, so I have to make 120 cards for a 12 box, 10 cards per box order.. so here’s picture 1 of some of the cards I’ve done.. not all of these will go into the boxes, as I need to replenish my stash as well.  All three sets were done as One Sheet Wonders. I think I made between 10-14 cards per sheet of patterned paper (some cards were already delivered when I took this picture).  I used SU  exclusively for the yellow marbled cards, a combination of  SU  and Newton’s Nook Designs for the purple and brown card sets. I have 3 sets down, I need to do 3 sets this month, then 2 a month til the end of June.

Thanks for looking, have a great day 🙂

Valentine’s Day cards

Yes,  I know I’m beyond a day late and a dollar short, but I wanted to post the Valentine’s Day cards I did.  Unfortunately, I sold 1 all season….. so I am stocked for next year. I used a mish mash of products, from recollections paper, to Memory Box, Quickkutz, Quietfire Designs, Simon Says Stamp, Sizzix dies, to some long forgotten PSX, Hero Arts, Quietfire Designs, and some unknown stamps. Inks are Palette, Hero Arts and Colorbox Frost White.

More Christmas cards

I’ll keep this simple.. these are some more Christmas cards that I’ve done. Some were from a retreat I went to at the end of October, some I did on my own.  I’ve been happily busy making a pile of Christmas cards for orders, so it explains why  my blogging has still been sporadic.

Thank You Gift

This is a thank you gift for an aunt and uncle who are letting me stay with them for a couple of nights this coming weekend (card making retreat).  This is all Stampin up dies and stamps. The bundle is called Star of Light, in the current holiday catalogue (you can get the stamps and dies separately, but I wanted both).  The idea I CASE(d) (copy and share everything), but put a different twist on it. I started with tent fold card bases in white 110 lb cardstock (Recollections), and then used more of the Recollections to cut a 3.75 x 5.25 piece.  I die cut the solid star from the bundle a bit above centre on the layer piece. I took some shimmer and glitter paper and cut 1/2 inch strips a little longer the the card piece. Using 1/4 inch thick super sticky dollar store tape, I ran a line along one side of the glitter/shimmer papers. I also die cut a detailed star out of the same glitter/shimmer papers.

I stamped the sentiments in Palette hybrid inks Cognac and Charcoal just under the star, then adhered the strips to the sides of the layering piece. Once that was done, I put a LOT of foam tape on the back of the layering piece, and then centered it on the card base.

To get the detailed star in place, I simply used a liquid glue (Elmer’s craft bond glue), and put just enough on the back to make sure all the pointed parts and centre would lay flat. I took Craft tweezers, picked up the star, and carefully centered it into the hole.

Thanks for looking 🙂
